Powerlifter Rostami Takes Gold at Asian Para Games
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Rouhollah Rostami claimed a gold medal at the Men's Up To 72.00kg of the 2018 Asian Para Games on Tuesday.
Rostami finished in first place after lifting 229kg.
He set a world record as well at this weight category.
Iraqi Rasool Mohsin won the silver with 220kg and the bronze medal went to Sergey Meladze from Turkmenistan with 185kg.
About 3,000 athletes with disabilities from a record 43 countries and territories are taking part in the games that opened in the Indonesian capital on Saturday.
The Asian Para Games will run through October 13.
