TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A South Korean parliamentary delegation is scheduled to pay a visit to Tehran in order to meet a number of Iranian officials next week.

The Korean delegation will visit Iran at the invitation of Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Borujerdi.

The parliamentary group will reportedly consist of a task force on environmental issues and another one on security and foreign policy.

The South Korean legislators are expected to meet Boroujerdi, as well as head of Iran-South Korea parliamentary friendship group, and a couple of Iranian lawmakers to discuss bilateral relations between Tehran and Seoul.

In a separate development on October 29, a four-member parliamentary delegation, headed by Kazzem Jalali, head of the Iranian Parliament Research Center, left Tehran for Seoul to take part in the 5th Seminar of Parliamentary Research Centers.

Iran has proposed to be the host country for the 6th seminar of the kind and the proposal has been approved by the member counties.

Iran and South Korea are both members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and have extensive trade ties.
