Iran Might Play Friendly with Belarus
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team will likely play a friendly match with Belarus prior to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran, who is pitted against Yemen, Iraq and Vietnam in Group D, will play Bolivia, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago ahead of the Asian Cup in the UAE.
Iranian Sport Minister Masoud Soltanifar met with Belarus Ambassador to Iran Yuri Ivanovic Lazarcic in the ministry.
Soltanifar requested Ivanovic to arrange a friendly match between Belarus and Iran in Tehran before the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Belarus sits 80th in FIFA world rankings while Iran is 33rd.
