Sepahan, Tractor Sazi Earn Late Wins at IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan and Tractor Sazi football teams earned late victories over Eateghlal and Sepidrood respectively in Iran Professional League (IPL) week 10 on Friday.
In Tabriz, Tractor Sazi beat IPL rock bottom Sepidrood 2-1.
Tractor Sazi captain Masoud Shojaei opened the goal with a long-range shot in the 86th minute but Mohammad Nozhati equalized the match with a header in the injury time.
Lee Erwin scored the winner in the dying moments of the match.
In Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Sepahan edged past Esteghlal 1-0.
With nine minutes remaining, Kiro Stanely powered a header past Esteghlal goalkeeper Hossein Hosseini.
Furthermore, Pars Jonoubi was held to a 2-2 draw by Sanat Naft and Foolad tied 0-0 with Esteghlal Khuzestan.
On Thursday, Padideh edged past Naft Masjed Soleyman, Zob Ahan drew 1-1 with Paykan and Nassaji Mazandaran and Machine Sazi played out a goalless draw.
On Saturday, Saipa will play Persepolis.
Padideh remains top of the table with 23 points, one point ahead of Sepahan.
