Ashton to Chair First Round of Geneva Talks between Iran, G5+1

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, will lead the first round of talks between Iran and the six world power, due to start in Geneva later today.

According to Tasnim dispatches, European Union Spokesman Michael Mann announced that Ashton will chair the first round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) in Geneva.

The session will be started at 13:30 Tehran time (1000GMT) today.

In a message posted on his twitter page at the end of working breakfast between Ashton and Iran’s Foreign  Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Geneva, Mann also said that the two side had a “good meeting” today and discussed how to proceed with today’s negotiations.
