Iran Opens Military Electro-Optical Gear Plant

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami on Tuesday inaugurated the production line of advanced electro-optical equipment with military application.

During a visit to the factory of a subsidiary of the Defense Ministry in Iran’s central city of Isfahan, General Hatami opened the production line of advanced electro-optical devices.

He also observed the military company’s latest products and achievements developed by local experts, saying the industrial group in Isfahan can meet demands of the Armed Forces for a range of electro-optical, laser, and medical equipment.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

In February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities.

Later, in August, Ayatollah Khamenei urged efforts to boost technologies for manufacturing military components and update training programs.
