Regional States’ Deadly Silence Has Emboldened Israel: Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s recent move to desecrate al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied East al-Quds (East Jerusalem) and said “some regional governments’ deadly silence” has emboldened Tel Aviv.

“The process of the massacre and ethnic-religious cleansing (of Palestinians) in al-Quds has been underway constantly and in an organized way since the occupation of the Palestinian land (in 1948),” Qassemi said in a statement on Thursday night.

“But some regional governments’ deadly silence on the Zionists’ repeated acts of aggression and their complicity in the ridiculous US-Israeli show of Warsaw Meeting as well as establishing covert and overt ties with perpetrators of the massacre of the Palestinian people have encouraged and emboldened the Zionists to desecrate Islamic and historic sites in Palestine, especially in (city of) al-Quds,” he noted.

Qassemi further called on the international community, the United Nations in particular, to take “immediate action” and stop the “racist” regime of Israel.

On Tuesday evening, nearly a dozen Palestinians were injured after Israeli military forces attacked worshipers entering al-Aqsa Mosque, the third-holiest site in Islam.

Local sources said that Israeli forces also arrested 15 other Palestinians inside the mosque, a majority of whom were reportedly seminary school students.
