Police Respond to Report of Shots Fired at Massachusetts Hotel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Police in Natick, US state of Massachusetts, have responded to report of an active shooter at a hotel on Route 9.

According to the Boston Globe, State Police said in a statement that officers responded to the Crowne Plaza Hotel just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Initial reports to police indicated one person sustained a minor injury in the shooting, but subsequent search and investigation did not confirm that, AP reported.

"We are satisfied that there were NO gunshot victims at the hotel from this incident," State Police said in a statement. "The investigation is ongoing to determine whether someone was shot and is no longer at the scene."

State Police spokesman David Procopio said search is ongoing for a suspect inside the hotel and the building was fully evacuated of guests and employees.

Natick is 17 miles west of Boston.
