Iran Army Unveils New Achievements

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Army Ground Force on Saturday unveiled a series of new military achievements, including advanced bomber-carrying drones.

In a ceremony in Tehran, the Army Ground Force unveiled six new achievements developed by the local experts.

The equipment include a smart multi-rotor bomber drone capable of carrying aerial weapons. Equipped with eight launchers, the drone has a flight endurance of 30 minutes and can carry a payload of 8 kilograms within a range of 5 kilometers.

Another achievement put on display was a drone with net guns used to capture light-weight hostile drones.

The other items unveiled on Saturday were a smart drone for detection of human and vehicles, a plasma atomic emission spectroscope, and portable laser alarming systems carried by troops and mounted on military vehicles.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Back in February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.

“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.
