Islamic Jihad: March of Return to Continue Until All Goals Achieved
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior member of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Movement reaffirmed support for the massive wave of protests known as the Great March of Return, stressing that Palestinians will press on with the weekly demonstrations in a peaceful manner.
In comments on Friday, Khader Habib described the March of Return as an option for the resistance aimed at restoring the credibility of Palestine.
The peaceful demonstrations will go on until the final materialization of all goals, Al-Manar quoted him as saying.
Habib, who was addressing the March of Return ralliers in eastern part of the Gaza Strip, underlined that resistance remains the only option for uprooting occupation in the Arab territories.
The resistance will not terminate unless the occupation is wiped out of the Palestinian territories, he added.
The Great March of Return, organized by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, started in March 2018, on the anniversary of commemoration of Land Day, which marks the events of March 30, 1976, when Israeli police shot and killed six Palestinian citizens as they protested against the Zionist regime’s expropriation of land.
The Great March of Return protests call for recognition of the right of return of Palestinian refugees, a right enshrined in international law, and the end of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip by Israel and Egypt for over a decade, which has caused suffering to the Palestinians living there.
More than 250 Palestinians have been killed since the demonstrations began in 2018.
