Iranian, Japanese Diplomats Hold Legal Consultations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – High-ranking diplomats from Iran and Japan held the first round of legal consultations in Tokyo in a bid to boost cooperation in diverse fields, including issues related to international law.

The meeting was co-chaired by the director-generals for legal-international affairs at the two countries’ respective foreign ministries.

In the talks, the two sides highlighted both governments’ firm determination to further enhance bilateral ties in various areas.

Tehran and Tokyo also welcomed growing cooperation and constructive negotiations on major issues surrounding international law and other issues of mutual interest.

The second round of the legal consultation was agreed to be held in the Iranian capital next year.

Iran and Japan have ramped up efforts in recent years to boost bilateral relations in diverse political and economic fields.
