Syria Army Deals Hard Blow to Terrorists in Hama, Idlib

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian military forces targeted the positions of al-Nusra Front terrorists in Hama and Idlib in response to their continued breaches of a de-escalation zone agreement in the provinces.

Syrian troops on Saturday evening pounded the gatherings of the terrorists in the villages of Hialin, Jourin and Ain Salimou in Hama countryside, SANA reported.

The army also targeted the militants’ hideouts in the areas of Kafrouma, Hass, Kafraya, Khan Sheikhoun and Ma’aret Hirma in Idlib countryside.

Large groups of the militants were killed and injured during the counterattacks.

The areas where the clashes broke out are located in a planned buffer zone that surrounds Idlib and also parts of the adjacent provinces of Aleppo and Hama.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.

However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
