Iran Advances to Men's Indoor Hockey Asia Cup Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated the Philippines 18-2 and booked a place in the 2019 Men's Indoor Asia Cup semis as the Pool A winner.
Team Melli will play Uzbekistan on Saturday in the competition’s semifinals.
Iran’s women’s team also lost to Uzbekistan 4-1 in Pool A and will meet Chinese Taipei on Saturday in fifth-place match.
The 2019 Men's Indoor Asia Cup is the eighth edition of the men's Indoor Hockey Asia Cup, the biennial international men's indoor hockey championship of Asia organized by the Asian Hockey Federation.
The competition is being held alongside the women's tournament in Chonburi, Thailand from 15 to 21 July 2019.
Iran’s men's team is the defending champion having won the 2017 edition.
