Fake Plans for Palestine Not to Yield Results: Iran’s Shamkhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani deplored the US government’s so-called “deal of the century” plan as “impractical” and said such “fake” plans for the Palestinian issue will never yield results.

Speaking at a meeting with a high-ranking delegation from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in Tehran on Tuesday, Shamkhani reiterated Iran’s unchanging strategy to support the anti-Israeli resistance of the Palestinian people.

“The fundamental principle of support for the Palestinian cause is among the Islamic Revolution’s strong (principles) and will continue until the complete victory of the resistance against the child-killer occupiers (Israeli regime),” he added.

Shamkhani further described proposing the deal of the century plan as “a failed and impractical act” and said with the growing role of resistance groups in the important equations of the region, the Zionist regime and its supporters are in fragile conditions.

“The fake (peace) plans that are contrary to the will of the Palestinian people will never yield results,” he the Iranian official stated.

In the Eid al-Fitr sermons in Tehran last month, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the US-Israeli plot against Palestinians is doomed to failure and will never materialize.

Decrying the US deal of the century conspiracy, the Leader said the betrayal of the cause of Palestine by some Muslim countries, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, has provided the grounds for “the evil plot”.

The deal of the century will never materialize, Ayatollah Khamenei said, expressing gratitude to some Arab countries and the Palestinian groups that have voiced their opposition to the deal.

The deal of century ploy, fronted by US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, has already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House's policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.

Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration since the president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
