General: Iran Extending Range of Missiles
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The range of Iranian missiles are increasing constantly to counter the regional and extra-regional threats, a ranking military commander said.
In an address to a cultural ceremony in Shahriar, a town near Tehran, on Monday, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Operation, General Mahdi Rabbani, said Iran’s defense capabilities are growing day by day in such a way that “none of the regional or extra-regional countries” could fight a ground war against the Islamic Republic.
“Our missile power also deters any regional and extra-regional acts of aggression, and the range of the missiles is also increasing constantly,” he underlined.
The general also hailed the depth of Iran’s influence that has reached the Mediterranean coasts, saying the axis of resistance has been expanded to regions near the territories occupied by the Zionist regime.
“Today, Hezbollah and Hamas have gained great power and do not need our help anymore, and all of their (Israelis’) locations are within reach of the Lebanese Hezbollah,” the general added.
In comments last month, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami said the IRGC’s great capabilities guarantee that Iran will never lose a war on the ground.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions reiterated the need for boosting Iran’s military capabilities and defense preparedness.
In November 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran’s enhanced military preparedness would frighten the foes and be deterrent against the enemies, underlining, “The Islamic Republic does not intend to begin a war against anyone, but you (the Iranian military forces) should boost your capabilities in such a way that not only the enemy would be fearful and afraid of attacking Iran, but also thanks to the solidarity, might, and effective presence of the Armed Forces, the specter of threats against the Iranian nation would be swept away.”
