Israelis Clash with Protesters in West Bank
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli troops have clashed with Palestinians protesting the regime’s plan to force tens of thousands of Bedouins out of the southern Negev desert.
On Saturday, the forces used tear gas against the protesters, who were chanting anti-Israeli slogans in the occupied West Bank.
In a demonstration in the city of Haifa, Israeli troops dispersed the protesters using water cannon.
Palestinian women of the besieged Gaza Strip also rallied in solidarity with the Bedouins, Press TV reported.
Other protests were held elsewhere across Palestine against the Prawer plan, which would expel around 70,000 people and destroy around 35 Bedouin villages.
According to a letter signed by more than 50 public figures in Britain, what Tel Aviv intends to do is “forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes and land, and systematic discrimination and separation."
Prawer was formulated in September 2011 when the Israeli regime approved a so-called economic development plan.
