AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers: Iran Emerges Group Winner
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Host Iran defeated Afghanistan 4-0 on Sunday to finish on top of Group C at the AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers.
Mohammad Kushki (two goals) and Yadegar Rostami (two goals) scored for Iran.
Iran qualified for the AFC U-16 Championship, slated to be held in Bahrain in 2020.
The Iranian team had defeated Maldives 13-0 and Palestine 2-1 in its two previous matches in Hamedan.
All the 47 AFC member Associations took part in the competition, dividing into 11 Groups.
The eleven group winners and four best runners-up qualified for the final tournament.
