Iran’s Shahin Khazar Starts World Winners Cup on High Note

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shahin Khazar of Iran defeated Boca Gdansk of Poland 7-2 in Group B of the first ever edition of the World Winners Cup in Alanya, Turkey.

Boca Gdansk was arguably favorite going into this match-up against Shahin Khazar, especially with Italian striker Gabriele Gori in its ranks, who has just been shortlisted among the world’s three best players.

The first goal came from Addari after a few minutes, but in the second period Movahed Mohammadpour and Mohammad Masoumizadeh equalized after an inevitable goal from Gori.

In the final period, the Iranian team simply blew the Poles away.

Mohammadpour and Masoumizadeh bagged another each and Aidin Teshnehkam, Mostafa Kiani and Shahriar Mojde also scored, wrapping up an incredible 7-2 victory.

Moghavemat Yazd is another Iranian team in the competition who has been drawn in Group A along with Turkey’s Alanya BS, Goldwin Pluss from Hungary and China’s Meizhou Hakka.

The beach soccer competition is taking place from October 21 to 27.
