Pakistan’s Parliamentary Mission Visiting Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A delegation of Pakistani lawmakers is visiting Iran to hold talks with the country's senior officials.

The visit is aimed at further strengthening the parliamentary ties as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.

Kashmir Committee Chairman Syed Fakhar Imam is also accompanying the delegation.

On the first day of the visit, members of the delegation held talks with members of the Iran-Pakistan Friendship Group led by Ahmad Amirabadi as well as Reza Rahmani, the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade.

Syed Naveed Qamar, a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, expressed hope that the visit would further improve relations between the countries that share a long border, common religion, and history.

He said that the relations in the field of trade and commerce need to be boosted and impediments to this end may be overcome with mutual consensus.

Syed Fakhar Imam also hailed Iran’s stance on the ongoing situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Iranian minister, for his part, hoped that the friendship groups in parliaments of both countries will further help overcome the impediments towards the promotion of trade and commerce relations between two countries.
