Iranian Establishment More Powerful than Ever: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces highlighted the country’s full preparedness to counter any foreign threat and said the Islamic Republic’s establishment is now more powerful than ever.

“Any country that fails to emerge as a powerful actor in its region will be intimidated and others will impose their will on it,” Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Qarayee Ashtinani said in a speech on Monday.

“Today, the Islamic establishment’s power is greater than ever, and… we are in the best situation in terms of (military) equipment,” he said.

The top general further deplored the US movement’s continued hostilities against the Iranian nation and said, “Our biggest enemy is the Great Satan (the US) and everything it does is always deceitful and fruitless.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Brigadier General Qarayee Ashtinani pointed to the US government’s so-called “deal of the century” plan against Palestinians and said, the conspiracy will never come to fruition.

On Tuesday night, US President Donald Trump unveiled his long-delayed Middle East plan, a proposal Palestinian leaders called a “conspiracy” that “will not pass”.

Following Trump's announcement, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said “a thousand no's” to the plan.

The American plan has sparked widespread international condemnation.

The deal of century ploy, fronted by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, had already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House's policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.

Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration since the US president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
