Iranian, Ukrainian FMs Discuss Jetliner Crash Case

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Ukraine talked about the January crash of a Ukrainian jetliner near Tehran.

In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Ukrainian counterpart Kuleba Dmytro talked about a range of issues, including the latest developments in the bilateral relations and the efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

Zarif and Dmytro also discussed the case of crash of the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 which was mistakenly shot down near Tehran on January 8.

The Iranian air defense unintentionally shot down the passenger plane amid the highest level of readiness because of a possible military attack by the US.

All 176 people on board the plane were killed.
