Iranian FM Calls on West to Live Up to Their Commitments

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Foreign Minister of Iran has reiterated Tehran’s seriousness in achieving a good agreement with the P4+1 group of countries in Vienna talks, as calling on the Western parties to fulfill their previous promises.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amirabdollahian, called on the Western parties to fulfill their commitments, in an Instagram message on Thursday night regarding the Vienna talks.

“We are all in Vienna to negotiate and reach a good agreement,” Amirabdullahian wrote in his Instagram post, adding, “The Western parties should know that in the last eight years, enough has been said and many promises have been made without action, but today is the time to act and we are working to reach a serious and good agreement.”

“Iran's nuclear program is quite peaceful, but resolving the alleged concerns of the Western parties is directly related to the complete lifting of sanctions," he said, referring to the West concern about the rapid progress of Iran's nuclear program.

At the end of his message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran noted that although Iran doubts whether the western side is ready to lift the sanctions or only seeks to unilaterally resolve its own concerns, but he added that there will certainly be a rapid progress in the negotiations if the western party participates in the negotiations in good faith and as well as constructive initiative and ideas.
