Taliban FM Dismisses Pakistani PM’s Comments on ISIS Threat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of the Taliban Amir Khan Muttaqi rejected the recent remarks made by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan that the ISIS (Daesh) terrorist group threatens Pakistan from inside Afghanistan.

Speaking to reporters in Kabul after attending a meeting of the OIC in Islamabad, Muttaqi rejected Imran Khan’s comments about the threat that Daesh in Afghanistan poses to Pakistan.

The soil of Afghanistan will not be used against anybody, he added, noting, “We have controlled Daesh better than everybody else, and reject such comments (from Imran Khan).”

Muttaqi said the Pakistani premier may have meant that a weak government in Afghanistan will be unable to control Daesh, expressing hope that such thing would not happen.

Islamabad played host to a ministerial meeting of the OIC members on Sunday for talks on the crisis in Afghanistan.
