COVID Daily Death Toll in Iran Down to 25

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily deaths from the coronavirus in Iran decreased again on Tuesday, standing at 25.

The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday marked one of the lowest daily deaths from the pandemic since its outbreak.

The ministry put the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country at 131,940, saying the disease has taken the lives of 25 patients over the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, 1,961 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 292 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.

More than 6,054,600 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,210,200 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.

Some 1,600 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.

The ministry also said that over 60.18 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 52.81 million have received the second dosage, and more than 11 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 311 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.51 million.
