Iran Ready to Share Technical Achievements with Kyrgyzstan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President Ebrahim Raisi voiced Iran’s readiness to share its technical and scientific experiences with Kyrgyzstan.

In a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Uzbekistan on Thursday, the Iranian president highlighted the country’s considerable scientific and technological progress that has been made under the pressure of sanctions.

“Iran is prepared to exchange its experiences and achievements to let Kyrgyzstan enjoy such major achievements,” Raisi added.

He also stressed the need for efforts to increase the economic relations between Tehran and Bishkek by several times the current level.

Iran and Kyrgyzstan can promote regional cooperation in partnership with Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, he stated.

For his part, Japarov said the expansion of relations with Iran is one of the top priorities in his country’s foreign policy agenda.

Expressing gratitude to Iran for assisting Kyrgyzstan in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, he highlighted the significance of cooperation between the two nations in the transportation industry and described the completion of a strategic railroad connecting Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas to Central Asia as a leading factor in the enhancement of economic cooperation among Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, the Iranian president has traveled to Samarkand to attend the SCO summit.
