Taekwondo Athlete Barkhordari Takes Bronze at Hangzhou
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondo athlete Mehran Barkhordari won a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Wednesday.
He started the men’s 80kg weight class with a 2-0 win over Afghanistan’s Omid Sahak and then beat the Philippines’ Dave Cea 2-0 but lost to his Korean rival Woohyeok Park 2-1 in the semifinals.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to Hangzhou in 34 sports events.
