Violent Clashes Erupt in Jenin amid Israeli Bulldozers Destroying Infrastructures

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian fighters overnight in Jenin city, located in the occupied West Bank, according to local media reports.

Various neighborhoods in the city were raided by Israeli forces, resulting in the arrest of one Palestinian man.

Monuments honoring deceased Palestinians were destroyed during the operations, as documented by the Palestinian state news agency, Wafa.

Video footage shared by local media depicted streets in Jenin torn up by Israeli military bulldozers.

Throughout the clashes, Palestinian fighters targeted Israeli forces with explosive devices and gunfire, as reported by the Shehab news agency.

Widespread raids were conducted by Israeli forces in major cities across the occupied West Bank, including Jenin.

Armed clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters unfolded in Jenin, while additional raids occurred in various locations such as Arraba, al-Irsal, Ein Misbah, Umm Safa, el-Bireh, Jama'in, Beita, Duma, Deir al-Hatab, al-Fawwar camp, Beit Fajjar, and Zeita. The situation is dynamic, and tensions persist as these raids unfold across the region.

As Israel's war on Gaza grinds on, violence is spiking in the occupied West Bank as Israeli forces step up their raids on Palestinian towns and refugee camps and settlers increase their attacks and harassment of Palestinians.

The cost in human lives ruined has been immense, with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs saying Israeli forces killed 30 Palestinians, including seven children, in the West Bank in the first 15 days of the year.

Thousands of people have been arrested and taken into Israeli detention, many held under the "administrative detention" system, which Israeli authorities use to hold Palestinians indefinitely with no charge.
