Leader Prays for President Raisi’s Health after Helicopter Crash

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei prayed that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage might be safe and sound after reports that their helicopter had an accident in northwestern Iran.

In a meeting with a number of families of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps forces, held on Sunday night on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), Ayatollah Khamenei expressed regret for the worrying accident for the helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage.

The Leader expressed hope that Almighty God would help the president and his entourage to return to the arms of the Iranian nation, as the search in progress for their helicopter.

Calling on everybody to pray for the health of the president, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation should not be worried or nervous and may rest assured that there will be no disorder in the processes of the country.

The accident happened as the president was returning from Khoda Afarin region in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan after inaugurating a dam at the common border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Friday prayers leader of Tabriz, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem, and Governor of East Azarbaijan Malek Rahmati were on board the helicopter.

The president’s convoy included three helicopters. Two of the choppers carrying a number of ministers and officials had landed safely in the foggy weather.
