IRGC Commander Urges Unflagging Preparedness

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari emphasized the necessity for a constant and unfaltering state of preparedness in the face of enemies.

The senior commander on Monday sent a message to a meeting of Basij forces, held in Tehran, making a reference to a remark made by the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who said, “We have to be ready and prepared in all conditions.”

Major General Jafari said steady preparedness is a must as “the sensitive and determining days lie ahead”.

“The (Islamic) Revolution will face yet another decisive years and months,” the commander added.

Earlier in November 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of the political developments.

“Our Armed Forces should increase their preparedness constantly regardless of the political calculations, and should do the strategic planning by identifying their own shortcomings and also by studying the enemy’s possibilities and weaknesses,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a gathering of the Navy’s high-ranking commanders and officials at the time.
