Iran Fully Self-Sufficient in Defense Industry: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A ranking Iranian commander said the local experts have acquired the technical know-how to manufacture all types of defensive equipment inside the country.

“Today, production of any defensive facility, from the idea and design to manufacturing, is completely carried out by the local experts, without the slightest dependence on the foreigners,” Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said in a Monday at Imam Hussein (AS) University in Tehran.

He described reliance on the country’s local, creative and committed young forces as a strategy of the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Tehran has repeatedly stated that its military might is defensive in nature and poses no threat to other countries.
