Japan Beats Iraq in AFC Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Japan went three points clear at the top of Group D with a 1-0 victory over Iraq in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Keisuke Honda scored from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute in Brisbane in the battle of the past two Asian Cup winners on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Jordan crushed debutant Palestine 5-1 in the group.
The result leaves Iraq level on three points with Jordan, who will face Japan in its final group game on Tuesday.
Iraq will face Palestine in the same day.
