Iran Handball Coach Borout Macek Rues Costly Mistakes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national handball coach Borout Macek said that the second half mistakes cost his team in its defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Iranian team lost to Bosnia 25-30 in Group B of the 24th Men's Handball World Championship on Friday.

“I am satisfied with the way we played in the first half but we made mistakes in the second half that cost us,” Macek said.

“Our players thought they have won the match and wasted their chances. We could easily have won the match,” the Slovenian coach added.

“I hope we can win our remaining matches. From now, we are concentrating on the upcoming matches,” Macek said.

Iran has been drawn in Group B along with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Austria and Tunisia. Team Melli will play Macedonia Saturday night.
