World Handball Championship: Iran Beats Saudi Arabia to Finish 21st

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian national handball team defeated Saudi Arabia 26:22 in the all-Asian duel at the Qatar 2015 President's Cup on Tuesday.

In the all-Asian duel at the Qatar 2015 President's Cup, Saudi Arabia and Iran did their best to finish 21st. Both teams were lead by ex-Yugoslavian coaches Borut Macek (Iran) and Goran Dzokic (Saudi Arabia).

Iran goalkeeper Mohsen Renani Babasafari was certain his team would be back stronger, for France 2016.

“It has been a great journey. Although we lost the first five games, we finished with two wins and go back to our country with lots of experience," he said.

"If we could play some more games, we would probably have won more of them. I promise to everybody in Iran than in two years from now we will return stronger and more ambitious on the international stage.”
