Iran Professional League: Esteghlal Defeats Sepahan, Persepolis Loses
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal defeated Sepahan 2-1 in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Veteran striker Reza Enayati gave Esteghlal a lead in the 8th minute and Hossein Papi pulled the visiting team level in the 42nd minute.
Omid Ebrahimi opened Sepahan’s goal in the 90+5 with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
Elsewhere, Iranian popular team Persepolis lost to Zob Ahan 1-0 in Isfahan. Masoud Hassanzadeh scored the goal in the 82nd minute.
Malavan and Tractor Sazi match ended in a 0-0 stalemate and IPL leader Naft was held to a 1-1 draw by Esteghlal Khuzestan.
Naft remains at the top of the IPL standings with 34 points, followed by Sepahan and Tractor Sazi.
