Bomb Blast Wounds 8 in Police Officer House in S. Afghanistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A bomb exploded in the house of a district police chief in Qalat, capital of southern Afghanistan's Zabul province, on Wednesday, leaving eight people wounded, including the district police chief, a police official said.

"The police chief of Shajoi district was in meeting in his residence at around 04:30 pm local time today when a blast rocked the house injuring eight people including the district police chief," deputy to provincial police chief Ghulam Jilani Farahi told Xinhua.

All the victims have been taken to hospital for medical treatment, the official added.

Investigation has been initiated, he said.
