Iran’s President Felicitates Republic of Ireland on National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the nation and government of Ireland on the country’s national day.
In a Tuesday message to his Irish counterpart Michael D. Higgins, Rouhani expressed the hope that the ties between Tehran and Dublin would expand in all aspects.
He also wished health and success for Higgins, and happiness and dignity for the nation and government of Ireland.
In Ireland, Saint Patrick's Day, 17 March, is the equivalent of a national day and has been a public holiday for many years.
Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.
