Iran Condemns Deadly Blast in Syria’s Hasaka
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned a recent fatal bombing in Syria’s northeastern city of Hasaka that killed more than 40 civilians.
The Iranian spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham also expressed sympathy with the bereaved families of victims of the terrorist incident.
She also hoped that mutual cooperation among the regional countries and groups would uproot terrorism and extremism.
SANA reported earlier that terrorists detonated two car bombs in al-Shuhadaa Square in al-Mufti residential neighborhood of Hasaka on Friday, killing more than 40 civilians and injuring nearly 100 others, most of them women and children.
Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011. In the past four years, more than 200,000 people have died in Syria -overwhelmingly civilians– and around 4 million Syrian people are now refugees in other countries. Another 7.6 million are displaced inside the country.
