Washington Favors Israel’s Interests over American People’s: Activist
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An American anti-war activist criticized the US government for giving more priority to serving Tel Aviv than the American people.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, the activist, giving her first name, Carol, referred to the nuclear talks between Iran and world powers and said the US favors Israeli interests over the interests of the Americans and other people in the world.
She stressed that Washington must stop listening to Israel and favor peace instead.
She went on to say that the US government must recognize Iran’s right to nuclear technology.
Carol was among hundreds of activists who held a rally on Saturday in front of the White House to protest against war and killing innocent people.
They carried placards reading "No War on Iran", "No Sanctions" and "Iran, Talks Not Bombs".
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are in talks to hammer out a comprehensive accord by a June 30 deadline that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear activities.
Tel Aviv has been persistent to undermine the talks and prevent a nuclear deal.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu travelled to the United States earlier this month and delivered a warning speech to the US Congress to stop a potential agreement.
