JCPOA to Take Effect in 2 Months: Iran’s Araqchi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The nuclear accord between Iran and world powers is expected to fully come into force by the next two months, Iran’s deputy foreign minister and senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said.

“According to the timetable, we believe we’ll reach a stage by the next two months that the JCPOA would be fully implemented,” Araqchi said on Monday, noting that the deal will have the other side terminate the anti-Iran sanctions after coming into force.

He noted that the process of implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has almost begun, and the parties have started to take the necessary measures to pave the way for the deal to take effect.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany – also known as the P5+1 or E3+3)  on July 14 reached a conclusion on a 159-page nuclear agreement that would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program.

The agreement was officially adopted on October 18, and is going to take effect within the next two months.
