Russia, Britain Stress Need for Implementing Iran Deal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russia and Britain agreed on the need to begin the practical implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement, Russia's Foreign Ministry said Friday.

According to a report by Sputnik News, the statement came following a phone talk between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and the UK Foreign Office's Political Director Simon Gass.

"Preparations to begin a full-scale implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on resolving the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program were discussed," the ministry said.

The sides noted that both Moscow and London "believe in the need for a speedy transition to the practical implementation phase of the JCPOA," and will take the necessary measures.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.

The nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
