Iran’s DM to Answer MPs’ Questions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan will attend a Monday session of the national security and foreign policy commission of the parliament to answer the lawmakers’ questions, an MP said.

Nozar Shafiee, rapporteur for the parliamentary commission, told Tasnim on Saturday that Dehqan is scheduled to brief the lawmakers on the security status along Iran’s borders and the Defense Ministry’s latest measures to boost the country’s defense capabilities and manufacture new military gear.

Last month, Brigadier General Dehqan stressed that the achievements of his ministry have deterred all threats posed by the enemies, adding that the achievements are now employed against the “hegemonic” powers in all fronts.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

In the most recent development, the Defense Ministry delivered a large cargo of homegrown long-range naval missile “Qadir” to the Navy on November 29.

Tehran has repeatedly stressed that its military might is defensive in nature and poses no threat to other countries.
