Iran 2nd at WTF World Cup Team Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran claimed the silver medal of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) World Cup Team Championships on Wednesday.
Azerbaijan won the male title at the competition and China seized the female title.
Azerbaijan prevailed 42-23 as the Iranians resorted to desperate spinning kicks in a fruitless attempt to close the gap.
Iranian coach of Azerbaijan team Reza Mehmandoust won the Best Male Coach award.
The male MVP honors went to Iranian taekwondoka Milad Beigi, who is member of Azerbaijan team, and China’s Shuyin Zheng was chosen as the female MVP.
