Saudi Jets Mistakenly Hit Own Targets in Yemen’s Jawf
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia's fighter jets mistakenly targeted a camp of pro-Riyadh militants in northern Yemen, killing and injuring scores of them.
According to a report by Yemen's Saba Net news agency, the Saudi warplanes on Friday hit positions of the pro-Riyadh militants in al-Marwan area, Jawf province, while they thought they were Ansarullah positions.
The attack left dozens of the militants dead and injured.
The Saudi warplanes have repeatedly targeted friendly targets since the start of Riyadh's military aggression against Yemen in April. Experts believe that the monarchy's pilots lack enough military experience.
Since March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, including the United Arab Emirates, have been launching deadly airstrikes against the impoverished Arab country in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to Yemeni sources, some 7,500 people, mainly women and children, have been killed in the Saudi-led aggressions so far.
