Iran’s Judiciary Chief Raps Assassination of Hezbollah Figure Qantar

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani on Tuesday slammed the assassination of Samir Qantar, a high-ranking member of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement, by the Tele Aviv regime.

In a message to Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah on Tuesday, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani condemned the Israeli terrorist crime, which was committed amid the silence of those claiming to be fighting terrorism and supporting human rights.”

He also expressed condolences to Nasrallah, Qantar’s family and comrades and the Lebanese nation.

Qantar was killed during the Israeli raid which targeted his home in the Syrian city of Jaramana, located 10 kilometers from the capital, Damascus, early on Sunday.

He had been released from an Israeli prison during a prisoner swap between Hezbollah and Israel in 2008 after serving 29 years in detention.

In a televised broadcast on Monday, Nasrallah underlined that Hezbollah reserves the right to respond to this assassination “at the time and place of our choosing”.

He added that there is no doubt or question that Israel assassinated Samir Qantar.
