Esteghlal Beats Tractor Sazi to Advance to Iran Hazfi Cup Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal of Tehran football team booked a place in the final match of the Iran’s Hazfi cup after beating Tractor Sazi of Tabriz.
On Tuesday, Esteghlal defeated Tractor Sazi 2-1 in Tabriz’s Yadegare Emam Stadium thanks to a brace from Sajjad Shahbazzadeh.
Shahbazzadeh gave the visiting team a lead in the 29th minute but Brazilian Augusto Cesar Moreira equalized the match in the 49th minute.
Three minutes later, Shahbazzadeh scored once again to help the Blues advances to the final.
“I am satisfied with the way we played. We dedicate this victory to Mansour Pourheidari (Esteghlal director who is in hospital for high blood sugar). Our players did their best to win the game,” Esteghlal coach Parviz Mazloumi said in the post-match news conference.
Esteghlal will face Zob Ahan of Isfahan in the final in Khoramshahr on May 27, 2016.
