Israel, Takfiris Root Causes of Regional Woes: Hezbollah Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – All crises in the Middle East region stem from the Zionist regime of Israel and Takfiri terrorist groups, Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement’s second-in-command said on Sunday.
Addressing the 29th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Sheikh Naim Qassem said all crises in the region originate from Israel and the regimes affiliated with it.
The other factor behind regional crises is the presence of Takfiri groups that seek to distort the image of Islam, he added.
The Lebanese figure then called for decisive action against the Tel Aviv regime and Takfiri groups, saying the Islamic world’s main goal should be confronting Israel.
Hundreds of clerics, intellectuals and academics from dozens of Muslim countries have attended the ongoing conference in Tehran to discuss the “present Islamic world crises.”
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has organized the gathering.
Established in 1989 following a recommendation by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the WFPIST aims to promote unity among followers of all Islamic schools of thought, and has held international conferences on Islamic Unity every year since then.
