Iran’s Top General Hopes for Muslim Unity, Global Peace

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In congratulatory messages on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi hoped for unity among all Muslims, disappearance of the Israeli regime and establishment of peace in the world.

In separate messages on Sunday, the senior Iranian general congratulated military officials of Muslim countries on the last prophet’s birth anniversary.

In these messages, Major General Firouzabadi wished Muslims unity, dignity and prosperity.

He also hoped for disappearance of the “occupying regime” of Israel and defeat of the enemies of Islam.

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal on the lunar Hijri calendar is believed by the Shiite Muslims to mark the birth anniversaries of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.

The interval between the two dates is celebrated every year as the Islamic Unity Week.
