Iran Football Federation Not to Renew Khakpour’s Contract

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran Football Federation (IFF) will not renew contract of Mohammad Khakpour, head coach of U-23 team.

Iran was knocked out of the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship after being defeated by Japan 3-0 in the tournament’s quarterfinals.

Ali Kaffashian, head of IFF, said that the federation is not going to extend Khakpour’s contract.

Khakpour is under contract with the federation until the end of AFC U-23 Championship and his deal will not be automatically renewed.

Contract of Iran U-23 technical director Mohammad Mayeli Kohan will not be extended as well.

“We thank them for their works and wish them all the best in the future,” Kafashian said.
