Sepidrood Rasht Secures Promotion to Iran Professional League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Sepidrood Rasht secured a promotion to the Iran Professional League on Monday.

Sepidrood defeated Nassaji Mazandaran 3-2 in Rasht’s Azodi Stadium.

Ali Nazarmohammadi’s men sits second place in Iran’s First Division with 61 points, one point adrift of Pars Jonoubi Jam. 

Last week, Pars Jonoubi Jam secured a place in the Iran Professional League for the first time.

Sepidrood Rasht Football Club is one of the oldest clubs in the northern Iran founded in 1968, and is the first sports club to be based in Rasht.

The team was named after the Sefīd-Rūd River which runs through the area.
