FIVB World Cup: Iran Loses to Unbeaten Brazil

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against unbeaten Brazil 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 27-25, 25-22) at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men's World Cup on Sunday.

It was Iran’s third defeat in the competition. Igor Kolakovic’s team had previously lost to Russia and Egypt and defeated Canada and Australia.

Porya Yali had 25 points for Iran and Brazil’s Yoandy Leal Hidalgo scored 16 points at Nagano White Ring.

Team Melli will play USA on Wednesday.

The 2019 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup features 12 national teams from the five continental confederations playing in Nagano, Fukuoka and Hiroshima in a round-robin format from October 1 to 15.

The Men's World Cup kicked off for five match days in Fukuoka and Nagano before teams move to Hiroshima for the remaining six match days.
